On I-8 today I was passed by a mini-convoy of Border Patrol vehicles (3 of em) all with 2 fully decked-out-in-camo-and-combat-helmet people inside 'em so I'm guessing the National Guard may just be using local Border Patrol channels for their ops.

I picked up an active surveillance coming down the I-15 in the Norco area about a month ago on 154.6800 - even had aircraft involved. Rather silent down here though.

Something else new with the copters (at least I don't recall them ever doing this with the old ones) was ABLE's ability to "simulcast" itself to two different radios. There was a chase the other night that originated in Coronado and ended up on I-5 near the 52. At one point ABLE said somet...

The "talkgroup used" when multiple groups are multi-selected/patched typically appears to be the first channel "selected" by the dispatcher when the patch is created.
