I had thought that was a possibility, but the RCS minutes keep talking about them installing new transmitters at all the sites, and stuff, which doesn't match up. Ah, well.

Guess I can't listen to them, if they're on a Common Carrier. That would be illegal. <piously>

Well, it's still rumor, but the RCS paging system meeting notes indicate a large number of local agencies are joining the county paging system, and SDFire is in bad need of update.

154.085 is San Diego Fire's pager, but it's soo ancient (GOLAY) that nothing currently available will decode it anymore. Well, Ok, there is one program, but it requires pre-XP and a data slicer, neither of which I have. And they're supposed to be moving to the county system along with everyone else,...

15600 appears to be a 'special operations' channel for SDPD, heard used at stadium for parking detail, heard during 4th of july activities used by beach units. Might be used for any major event.

Monitoring the unknowns:

9392 is Wheelchair Transport

Looks like the 'known' talkgroups for PEO Tac 1, 2, and 3 are wrong. No activity on them, and now:

4560 PEO Tac 1 (Id'ed as such)
4592 PEO Tac 2 (probably)
4624 PEO Tac 3 (probably)

County RCS Pager Freq(s)?

Anyone out there happen to know what the County's pagers are on? It seems the new RCS system will be on the same channels, or nearly, since they say the old pagers will work, but there's no county frequency that's actually showing a license for pagers (more than a few). 155.940 has some of the rural...

Latest Trunker Listing of active SD TRS Talkgroups

This is the list of groups that have seen hits sometime via Trunker software for the City Trunk System. I've noted any channels showing hits but not listed anywhere as 'unknown', with a note on activity level seen on those channels. Most are 'dead', for less than 10 hits, but a few are quite busy, a...

SDFD Dispatch Talkgroups

Seems that SDFD is now (actually, for some time now) running three talkgroups all multicast as 'dispatch', but there are some 'tricks' to it. Groups in the 'dispatch' multicast are: 4688 'Fire Dispatch Simulcast' - This is, now, the 'master' group. 5008 'Fire Dispatch' 5168 'Fire Admin' If you progr...

The same as every other 800 system, 45 MHz below the output.

If that's them, then their 'other' ID is 0-04-009 (for the other mountaintop in the system)

The 0-20-009 ID given above is a seperate LTR system, on Mt. Palomar.

Hiding under the overflowing belly of one of those uniformed patrol folks in the pictures is what appears to be a small cellphone on his belt. Probably that's all they use, either straight cell or nextel type two way service. The FCC shows only one part 90 (any class) transmitter within 1 km of thei...
