Yes, but not for the 396XT. It is coming but it hasn't been released yet. Actually there are two programs for loading freqs. in the 346/396XT. Proscan and Freescan.Control wrote:Uniden provides software for the 396 and 996, so no need to worry about that.

Cheap propagation tool
I stumbled upon a new site. Its easier to understand than it is to explain it. It doesn't take several factors into effect but it gives you a decent idea of your rf "visibility" to surrounding peaks. ??? Go try it.

Plane crash near Miramar
I'm hearing reports from Able on LawAir of a Comanche down 3 miles east of Miramar. Sounds pretty bad, no tail numbers to read.

Re: Air TAC channel?
I just heard someone on Law Air ask a helo (not sure which one) to switch to Air Tac 1. The helo responded and that was all I heard. I was monitoring all RCS MA channels. I switched another scanner over to to the City system. I didn't hear a thing on either scanner until the helo came up on North di...

I've been playing with my 396XT for a week now and I give it a big thumbs up. Putting sites under systems is cool in multiple ways. The storage is huge, NAC decoding, adjustable charge on batts. ... The sensitivity on 800 is definitely better than the 396T. With some highly un-scientific testing, t...

It sounds like the use of that TG has changed mike. This TG is the one that the radios change to when the emergency button is pushed.mike wrote:Is CV 6-P 27408 Emergency is this talkgroup still known as Chula Vista Fire zone talkgroup?

Re: Info on 2009 Uniden Scanners: BC346XT - BCD396XT
FYI, the RR wiki page indicates that bcTool supports the 396XT. This is wrong. The author of bcTool is swamped with his paying job and will not commit on a date that he will be able to update the program to support the 396XT. Freescan is the only game in town right now. My 396XT should be here tomor...

Re: Shooting in Oakland OMG
Hi Jeff! I saw that as well. I made the assumption that the head shots were the only wounds because that was they mentioned in the early reports. It still seems a little odd though as I would think they would have been wearing vests but maybe that is a bad assumption as well.

Re: Shooting in Oakland OMG
As far as the headshots... I wouldn't expect that from the most skilled marksman cop, the average gunowner (who can afford tons of training that cops rarely get), or even a gangbanger hitman (who has more experience shooting people than cops do). I can only guess this evil piece of crap was trained...
