New North Zone Fire Departments Apparatus Numbering System

Post by Brian »

All North Zone fire departments have agreed to change their apparatus numbering system to align with an overall county-wide numbering system. The purpose behind this change is to implement a designator system that helps eliminate confusion and errors for departments in the zone/county with similar unit designators. Escondido Fire Department will be switching over to the new numbering system on August 1, 2017 at 10:00 hours.

Should be hearing a new numbering system for all the North Zone units starting this morning.
For the most part the ID's are being shortened to 3 digits with some exceptions (staff, etc).

Example...
Engine 1211 is now Engine 121.
Medic 1291 is now RA121.
