Why Does CHP El Cajon Dispatch Change Talkgroups?

Post by Mikey »

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I've always wondered why the CHP El Cajon Dispatch fluctuates between 37888 and 38880? Do the radios have to be re-programmed when this happens? Is there a technical reason for the shifts?

Thanks :D

Why, I haven't a clue... No they don't have to re-program radios, they're just switching talkgroups... Perhaps at lineup they're told what channel to be on..

I've wondered why they change myself. I do know that they are evaluating the RCS system for their use. It is possible that they're just checking out each talkgroup as part of the evaluation?
