Bonita Public Safety

Post by PStuart »

On Bonita Road in Bonita near the golf course is a building that says "Bonita Public Safety Center". It has CVPD, SDSO and CHP stickers on the windows. Does anybody know what this building serves as and who operates it? I've driven by many times but never had the chance to walk in.

Sounds like a storefront for SO/CVPD/CHP operations

From an article in the UT -
For instance, the Bonita Public Safety Center will be shared by the Chula Vista Police Department, the Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol. Previously, the nearest shared office space was in Imperial Beach.
From the SO website -
There are 2 COPPS deputies for the City of Imperial Beach, 2 COPPS deputies for the unincorporated area, and 1 Crime Prevention Specialist in the unit. The Imperial Beach Store Front is located at 900 Seacoast Drive. The Bonita Public Safety Center/Store Front office is located at 4180 Bonita Road in Bonita (619) 472-8027. The office was established for the COPPS deputies to work from and have community interaction. We all work towards the problem solving effort in Imperial Beach, Bonita and surrounding unincorporated areas of responsibility.

The COPPS Unit utilizes the S.A.R.A. Model (Scan, Analyze, Respond, & Assess) to identify problems and solutions in the community. Our community policing efforts help bring resources to the community to form partnerships that will improve the quality of life for everyone. This should help make our partnership with the community stronger and allow us the freedom to experiment with new ideas.

The COPPS Unit is committed to improving the quality of law enforcement within the Imperial Beach Command.
