CDF does have medics in many areas. Here in SD County, CDF staffs Medics 80 and 81 in Ramona.

CDF Riverside staffs 28 medic engines, 2 medic squads, and 7 medic ambulances 24/7. And here in San Diego County CDF paramedics staff the Ramona units as John indicated, as well as a medic engine in deer springs.
And as a side note, when CDF took over dispatching Rural FPD that did not include the medic units. Heartland still dispatches the Rural medics.
