BC235

Post by hoss2 »

Hello, I am in need of a little help. I own a Bearcat 235 handheld and I have no owners manual to instruct me with adding frequencies. it is programmed with some SDPD and Fire channels but since I'm very new to scanning, I have no idea which stations they are. my main objective is to have Chula Vista and National City frequencies programmed, but as I look at my radio, I'm dumbfounded. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. thanks

If its the BC-235XLT???

This is for the BC-235XLT the only thing I could find on that model.

This is the onwers manual:

Also heres a little wiki for it.

If your looking to listen to Sheriffs Digi-P25 or really anything after the reband(had been delayed till July 08 ) I would suggest getting yourself a 396 or a 996(Unidens Digi Scanners).

With listening to Chula Vista or National City witch is on the County of San Dieog's RCS system witch is Digi-P25(mostly P25) All LEO TG are P25 on the RCS.

So you would need a Digi scanner.

Hope this helps!

Rebanding is further out than that (probably sometime in 2009), although we're starting to plan.

Sorry, the FCC first goal was around April - June 08.

I was just using:
Brian wrote:o Nextel rebanding: The FCC has extended the mandatory negotiation periods for border area NPSPAC (Stage 2) and non-NPSPAC (Stage 1) licensees in Wave 4 to July 1, 2008, and has postponed the beginning of the mediation period for such licensees until July 2, 2008:

Also as Sean has said that( What I have seen) there is one Freq for the SD TRS that would be rebanded and they may opt out.

I just got a gut feeling that somethings( some not alot) maybe get rebanded. Yet I might be wrong.

But that scanner WILL NOT work for what your looking to listen to.

I forgot to add that for looking whats programed into check here:

Alot of good info.

That new FCC date is for 'REBANDING NEGOTIATION' not REBANDING the systems near the border areas to the new freqs yet!.
two very different things and very compercated.

It will be very interesting! and see what Mexico does.

..Clairification on that.. I have NO information or had any discussion or rumor on the fact that they may opt out of doing anything. It was just an observation on my part that only one of their freqs was on the list of channels that are affected by rebanding.
