I really need some help...
I'm totally new to scanning i have quite a few questions.
1.) Is my Radioshack PRO-94 Digital???
2.)What are some Freq's and TG's for the North Zone? i\.e. Escondido, San Marcos PD and FD
3.)Is using the antenna that the unit came with good or if i buy a different will it be better?
4.)What does it mean when I come across a channel that sounds like a fax machine...or whatever you wanna call the weird machine like noise?
PLEASE help me!

Re: I Need Help...Totally new to Scanning
A PRO -94 is not able to monitor digital systems
Analog Talkgroups
21328 Escondido Fire Dispatch (GREEN 154.325)
21360 Escondido Fire Command 1
21392 Escondido Fire Command 2
21424 Escondido Fire Tac 1
21456 Escondido Fire Tac 2
5552 Del Mar Fire Command 1
5584 Del Mar Fire Command 2
5712 Del Mar Fire Dispatch
5744 Del Mar Lifeguards
5904 Del Mar Fire Tac 1
5936 Del Mar Fire Tac 2
You could also go to :
San Diego County RCS System
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=499
San Diego City System
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=330
A= Analog D= Digital E= Encrypted (Cant be monitored with a scanner)
Depends what band you want better reception with but most Emergency Services like Fire and Law are on the RCS and City 800 system and an antenna for the 800 band would be good for that.
As for the Fax machine and buzzing sounds its either some kind of paging system or its the digital talkgroups if you have the RCS programmed in your scanner.
Hope this helps as a start

I kjnow i sound kida stupid but what does it mean when you put like "(Green xxx.xxx)"?
Re: I Need Help...Totally new to Scanning
154.325 is called Green and Escondido fire dispatch also uses this frequency for dispatch its a conventional frequency and you can program it in your scanner too.
