Sheriff: Helicopter was shot down

Several years ago CHP H-80 (at the time a long ranger out of dagget) was shot down over death valley some crazys held up in a valley with a assualt rifles, no injuries, suspects hit an oil line.
Back in the day there was a couple of riverside choppers shot down over casablanca (slum). 2 seperate incidents, and after the 1st incident casablanca was made a no fly zone. I don't think it still is though.
In 1980? 40king (san bernardino sheriff chopper) was shot down in the famous norco bank robbery chase (think north holloywood, but worse).
I think there was either an LAPD or LASO pilot that got shot in the foot several years ago, and the chopper had to be set down, but I can't remember that one very well.
