New light and air 1 (LA1) arrived this week. Drove past it on the freeway the other day and now it sits at 28's waiting to be put into service.

I drove by the other day and noticed that a new one was being built on the site of the old one. Does anyone know where the units are currently being housed?

Was out in Brawley on Friday night and along the way had some traffic pop up on the National City system, which would include 863.250 control channel and heard what sounded like road crews on NCPD Disp 2. Didn't have time to do a search for anything else but found it interesting.

I agree, I have one of the high capacity batts that I bought at HRO and haven't really noticed any big difference. I've been getting at least 8 hrs our of it in my 250D

If you are really interested in what is going to be going on the next few years as far as construction of new stations and apparatus take a walk through the proposed 2005 budget. It's very informative.

I believe part of next years budget includes more brush rigs and a new light and air unit.
