Re: Chula Vista Police Chief Retiring

Not so usual if you never had a problem. I lived fairly close to the police station too. Guess Carlin's joke about criminals not wanting to be anywhere near prisons and jails was wrong. They know they'll get right back out in an endlessly revolving door.

We met with city officials and they refused to put in speed bumps or humps. The alley between the back of ...

Re: Sheriff Bill Kolender Retiring

They're not going to let Gore just be acting sheriff, they will appoint him. Dianne Jacob's reply (written by Robert Spanbauer) to my letter said: "Consistent with the voter-approved San Diego County Charter and Board Policy, the Board of Supervisors will carry out an appointment process for th...

http://www3.signonsandiego.com/stories/2009/mar/23/1m23earp222538-police-dog-stabbing-close-call/?zIndex=70858 SAN DIEGO — San Diego police Sgt. Jess Havin knew every minute mattered when he scooped up his bloodied partner and bolted to the cruiser they've shared for five years. It took one minute t...

Re: Shooting in Oakland OMG

Oriental Male Gangbangers? As far as the headshots... I wouldn't expect that from the most skilled marksman cop, the average gunowner (who can afford tons of training that cops rarely get), or even a gangbanger hitman (who has more experience shooting people than cops do). I can only guess this evil...

Re: Cash thrown on the freeway

Yeah, if only they weren't already screwed by having a ton of units right on them, including 2 K-9s and ABLE which wouldn't have dropped to pick up the money anyway.
