On large fires I sometimes hear the dispatchers list something like "diz not" on the list of dispatched units. Does anybody know what this is?

I'm getting the same thing. Sometimes the dispatcher even pauses like he/she is aware of the cutouts. Sometime they even start over.

I found a schedule item for a "site dedication," whatever that means. The ground breaking was in June.

On the way back, Copter 1 referred to the station 47 "site" so I guess there isn't a station there yet. I think it must be in Carmel Valley somewhere.

What you have listed as the Copter 1 base is the correct location, although that is not Copter 1 on the pad.

I just heard one of the SDPD pilots on 122.775 with ASTREA say that the first of the new helicopters was supposed to arrive September 1st. He said he thought it would be the first or second week of the month before they went 10-8 with it.

Yesterday (Monday) I heard an announcement that they would be using SDFD VHF channels 1, 2, and 4, whatever those are.
