According to the news last night, the only bad thing about the DC-10 is that Ramona's airport is not big enough (runway long enough) so it has to fly to San Bernardino to reload & refuel. It only takes 8 minutes to reload with whatever, but the commute round trip must be about an hour.

Heaven forbit that they overstay their welcome on RCS. Must be like being the black sheep of the Department, being the only area not using the standard frequencies.

But I thought I also saw something about Imperial County CHP going to their RCS>??

The RCS meeting minutes are slowly getting current.

Apparently CHP has extended their contract for use on RCS until Sept 2006.

It was actually listed on the RCS Agenda for the 7/6 meeting, requesting approval from the RCS board for the Port to join.

According to the posted meeting minutes from the 7/6 RCS Board meeting, the Port of San Diego is awaiting approval to join the RCS system.

There was also an item listed for CHP Contract, with no details.

Does anyone have any info on either item?

A story on NBC 7/39 tonight said that the Fire Departments of Solana Beach/Del Mar and Elfin Forest were looking into combining with Rancho Santa Fe, to save money. They are already dispatched by Rancho. Nothing was said about Oceanside using Rancho Dispatch.
