Re: Shooting in Oakland OMG
Here is an update with more detail. I still can't understand how the punk managed to hit everyone in the head. Even the officer that was grazed was hit in the head.

Shooting in Oakland OMG
Is anybody else following this. Four Oakland LEOs shot by lone suspect. Three confirmed dead the other critical. At least two of them were shot in the head while standing next to each other.
Condolences to the families.
Here's one of the stories.

Commercial radio site
I was up on Superstition (El Centro area) last Sunday doing relay for a D38 motorcycle race. I snapped a couple of pictures and thought someone might be interested in seeing what a commercial site looks like. This a pretty small one but you get the idea. http://dansracephotos.com/photos/495721113_SW...

Re: CDF modulation?
Thanks Skip. Thanks Don. It looks like I should just set the modulation to FM for these freqs. They aren't wide as in broadcast FM and they aren't narrow either. I searched the owners manual, an online "easy manual", and a couple of reviews for the BW on the WFM, FM, and NFM settings and c...

Re: NACs and 396T Scanning
NACs are to digital systems like PLs/CTCSSs are to conventional. The best use I see for NACs is to identify agencies using a conventional P25 system. You could search the federal freqs with NAC search. If you know the NAC it would be an additional clue to who is using the freq. I would like to have ...

CDF modulation?
The comm guidelines from the firescope website shows most of the CDF freqs. to be using wide FM modulation? Is that for real? I have volume issues when I set my 396T that way.
