I didn't check for one, just happened to have the audio on when a sigalert went out, I think two tones, then the sig audio. One could use the newer scanners with tone signal detect in non-scan to pick them up, but that seems overkill. Without CTCSS, though, I'd wonder how they keep the sigalert rece...

I did confirm that 155.94 is also the Sigalert paging frequency, happened to catch a pageout.

I imagine that if you wanted to monitor sigalerts, you could use CTCSS to hear only the tone alerted sigalerts, and not all the pocsag paging.

Roadrunner ups the speed in Pacific Beach

Just noticed a few days ago that my Roadrunner cable modem service has been upgraded rather drasticly, sometime since the middle of last month. Last month, I had 6800 down, 508 up. Now, I have 9800 down, 981 up. Aren't remote programmable/upgradable modems fun? http://www.speedtest.net/result/223082...

Maybe I missed it, but just to check, you ARE listening to the RCS South loop, right? That's where National City is, now.

Overview of San Diego County Comm Plans

If you wish to read the County's planning document for updating, changing, and integrating communications over the next 10 years or so, here's the PDF of the plan. (18 Megabytes) https://www.rcs800mhz.org/web/docs/San%20Diego%20RSTP.pdf Indicates, for instance, that the County hopes to begin transit...

We broadcast dispatches on Admin (5008) and Dispatch (5168). The calls also go out on the Station Alerting circuit (microwave with landline backup) Someone told me that 4688 is a Lifeguard TG that simulcasts FD dispatch. While that may be the 'theory', day to day monitoring of the actual trunk syst...

The San Diego County RCS has analog voice for almost all fire traffic, but digital (P25) voice for almost all law enforcement traffic.

Also, you shouldn't be setting a custom base, offset, and step. The scanner already has those preset for 800 MHz systems, you only need (or should) to set those for systems on other bands.

Most likely, you didn't set it as a 'splinter' system, which is required for all San Diego 800 MHz systems.

As of today (haven't had trunker running for a while), patching has shifted, and now TG 5008 is the 'master' talk group, with 4688 and 5168 secondary, with 'actual' dispatches going out (mainly) on 5008 again.

I'd keep all three in, as it can change around at any time.
