The last list I have of the countywide 4 digit system gives these... note that San Diego DOES have the numbers, they just don't use them in dispatch. Stringers are likely either actually in possesion of a real cad (radio) unit, or are monitoring (we'll just pass on the legality) the FD text paging system where that info also comes out (I think). I've never heard of an online cad from SDFD. Of course, that doesn't mean there isn't a 'private' one ...

Bear in mind that if you're trying to scan weak signals, the closeby FM transmitter can 'desense' your scanner, and cut its sensitivity, sometimes quite badly.
