Re: new san diego fire USAR rig
looks like they had to split a vector light bar because of the air conditioner on the front roof of the cab. Surprised they went with the bus mirrors...musician2111 wrote:Those pics of the Pierce Pumpers Vista FD ordered arent the exact photos are they? Those lightbars are hideous.

Re: Helicopter?
I've seen a fuel tender parked along the fence on Joe Crosson (road that goes north/south to admin bldg) painted almost in the same scheme as the LAFD copters labeled "Blackhawk Helicopters" and also "wildland firefighting emergency vehicle". My guess is it belongs to that company.

Re: CG Helo and Longrifle today?
Could this have been in response to the search for the down aircraft off San Clemente? I know when I worked for Hartson in Oceanside Life Flight had to clear with Longrifle anytime they entered Pendleton airspace...

Re: SDFD STA 46
Both 46's and 47's are fully staffed. Without having an address, there's no telling why 2612 went in place of 33's. A good guess is with automatic aid in that area I believe the closest rig goes, so it won't necessarily be a SDFD unit.

Re: new san diego fire USAR rig
I have been told SDFD is getting a new USAR rig for 41 off Mira Mesa Bl. I didn't know it would be in this quick. The first of the new Arrow XT engines should be in sometime in March.

I believe it was 1978 or so, immediately after most of the tax base was lost to Prop 13....31 wrote:In the old days like about 1983-1984 ISH the county of san diego threw up its hands and said your on your own we aint paying for support and maintenance of the county fire rigs any more.
