Guest-ec, You were right it did work with Null Modem connector. It will make programming my mobile radio easier since I don't have a laptop with a serial port. Thanks! And thanks to w6pix for the idea of an A/B switch for antennas. I did my install this weekend and the reception was better then expe...

I was the Guest log in above by the way. Okay, I am trying to clone a 796D with a 250D not a 296D. I believe because the 796D and 296D are of the same generation, it will work between those units. Since there is a generation gap between the 250D and the 796D, is that the reason I can't get this to w...

Cloning a 796D from a 250D?

Does someone here know if this can be done? I tried using a shielded serial cable with a gender adapter with the Master being the 250D and the Slave being the 796D. I just got an error on the 250D when attempted. Any thoughts?

I am wondering if putting the eastern sub-sites of the RCS in the same bank as the South CC, will allow you to hear traffic in rural areas when out of range of the South CC? I.E., when traveling East on 8 and my scanner loses the CC of the South system, it would scan and pick up one of the other sub...

Can someone who has one let me know if the flip stand and feet are removable? I have exactly the stated height dimension for an in-dash mount. Or, are the stand and feet considered in the 2 3/8" height spec.

Thanks!

Motorola Speaker Plug Adaptation

I just got a Moto speaker (HSN4039A) for my mobile install and was wondering how easy it is to change the proprietary connecter to a 3.5mm male? I am looking to use it with a Uniden 796D. Sean, I noticed in your install description you use Moto speakers, any input here?

Thanks!

As far as glass mount, I think I found what I am looking for from AS at a local shop in KM. It has a range or 806-894 I believe. They make one that has a more limited range (806-869). Does anyone know if I'd get more interference with a larger range. The shop didn't stock this one. Sean, your mounts...

Thanks again Sean. I will try the visor with the 250D in the mean time. I am thinking of 2 places in KM for the 800 glass mount. Does either Western Radio or HRO sound right? From my knowledge the RS digital receivers are made by GRE and no longer by Uniden. I am looking to in-dash mount, and the 20...

Thanks for the info Sean. Also, the site is great. I did check your install and am hoping you can point me in the right direction on where to get a good 800 mhz on-glass ant. I live close to 805 & MR and very familiar with wipeout zone there. I also found my 2066 cutting out a lot in the valley ...
