There's a picture of a medic rescue rig at the following web page. At least this is what they used to look like.

The rigs they used before were larger than regular medic units. I assume they carried extra equipment. If I recall correctly, there were MR units at stations 9, 24, and 33 previously.

Medic Rescues

SDFD seems to be using Medic Rescues again. I have heard dispatches for MR 9 and 37 today. They had them a few years ago, but they went away. I guess they're back now. I wonder if they are using the old rigs again, or if they're new.

Rebanding?

It's been a long time since I've heard anything about rebanding in San Diego. Has anybody heard anything lately?

In 402. (a) it says "...and thereby impedes..."

I'm no lawyer, but it sounds to me like as long as you don't get in anybody's way you are not in violation of the statute.

I'm wrong again. I just did some reading and both ports on the 996 are serial. Why do companies keep building devices with serial ports when hardly any computers come with them any more?

I guess Uniden does have a USB to serial cable for that unit though. At least that one probably works.

I see by the previous message that the 996 does have a USB port. Isn't the cable readily available?

USB to serial adapters are a pain in the neck. I tried a couple of different ones to program my 396 and finally gave up and bought a serial card for the computer. That works great.

Doesn't the 996 have a USB port?

I think you must mean Division Chief. Battalion chiefs are always dispatched.

I have noticed that a Division Chief usually responds if they have an active fire.
