318 and I stopped over at ABLE base last night to check out the new bird.

Loving it, very happy they are getting a fleet! Looking forward to listening to them kicking some ass in the new ones. Thanks so much for the pictures!

Those new helo pics are awesome and I was wondering when SDPD is gonna put them in use and I was wondering does SDPD have a ride along program for able? :D

From what I hear they have to go up to Palomar Airport first. They will then be set up with all the radios, etc. I think I read somewhere around July is when they'll put the first one in service. Sean will probably know more.

Right around the beginning of August for the first. 3 more to follow. Second one is being outfitted now. Other 2 are awaiting delivery.

The new ABLE A-Star is 10-8! I saw it in Northern,
She was pretty Quite cruising over head,.
Looking foreword to seeing the new air ship’s going in and out of
There new air base. Now that is cool!!!!!

the new bird was up on friday. it has a very distinct rotor/turbine pitch compared to the bell. they're having a media open house in the next couple of weeks.
