April 21, 2008 - Fire Destroys Home in Cielo-Rancho Santa Fe

Post by Brian »

The fire was reported shortly before 6 a.m. Monday in the
7909 block of Camino De Arriba, Rancho Santa Fe, CA
The house burned for over 3 hours!

KNSD 7/39 has some nice photos of it on the website.

Very interesting to read the comments near the bottom of the page.

RSF Fire Press release of the fire.

KSND was the only helicopter over the fire. The fire started at 6:am and it showed up around 8:am. Then KGTV 10 Helicopter showed up at 10:45am (little before the 11:am news.
Sad thing about it KFMB helicopter never showed up at all! It must have
been down for maintenance or something.

And 'Cielo' wouldn't let the MEDIA inside the gates! (private property). (as
they said it on the KNSD online video!)

So I had all the ground shots to myself! and some 'QuickTime' video of the 'D' side of the fire.

There was lots of fire engines on scene. The ladder truck(1371) from Escondido fire came after it made it to the top of the hill.
and only two problems little after dispatch! Water Pressure & Cell phone
Coverage!(Waiting for a call from the water dept).

I seen the cell phone coverage problem all day today. I saw people trying to make phones calls and lose the phone calls.
Must be due to the cell site 'down tilt antennas' or 'signal overload on
cell phones from seeing too many cell sites'. Since it doesn't cover very good on top or inside many homes!
