FCC Commissioners P****sed off

Post by Brian »

Wow! So If I keep a copy of this with my ham license It's okay to use! ;-)

Today, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York said the use of the words “fuck” and “shit” by Cher and Nicole Richie was not indecent.

Todays FCC news releases had the follow two comments regarding an
appeals court ruling on profanity. Which Commissioner is more upset?

Martin.

There's a mock PSA about the first word, which has so many uses in the English language. Doesn't always connotate sex, and I nearly always use it negatively - which means no sex. I doubt many people think of sex when they hear it used commonly anymore - unless that's their mindset.

The context in which Cher used it was negatively. She obviously didn't want her naysayers to be pleased, by having sex, or I doubt for them to be raped, either.

(a serious look by the Online Etymology Dictionary)-

Now, Nicole Richie. Seems like she got a double word score and had at least a triple word score bleeped out - why weren't the rest? Is there a bleep recharge time? I loathe her and her convict friend. She seems to be mentally scarred (how many months later?) from working at a cattle ranch with a ridiculously expensive handbag over her shoulder.

For her to be that pissed off STILL about doing something that no human being should be above doing, and being stupid enough to ruin an expensive thing doing it... mental repatterning and the complete separation from Western civilization is in order.

Seems like Cher won an award. I can't tell if they did or if they were presenters. In any case, I'm going to seem unfair to some by saying the Richie FCC ruling should have been upheld and not the Cher one, even though I don't particularly like Cher either.

Billboard could have saved humanity just a little by keeping Hilton and Richie away from all the microphones, period.

P.S. I've heard people say "shit" on ham radio a bunch of times... been guilty of it myself. Fortunately, it's mostly been used as an expression of personal deficiency as opposed to an insult or synonym for feces.
