Unknown IDs

Come here to talk about the San Diego and Imperial County Regional Communications System. This is a great resource to share talkgroups and information about the countywide RCS.

21040 - 21232 are the old Coronado FD analog talkgroups. They discontinued using them when they contracted with Heartland. I know that they still had them programmed in the radios, and have occasionally heard FD units calling PD on the dispatch channel.

So as I continue to play with Trunker and log RCS North, South, East, and a coupple fill-in sites, I've found a bunch more unknown IDs than I had before. All but the ones noted have had one or more radios affiliated with them. The ones that show no affiliations still show hits on a bunch of them so I've included them too. Recently I've logged a BUNCH of talkgroups with IDs over 50000. Some day soon I'll leave a radio on and record any traffic I can find on these talkgroups, but here's the list as it stands (including the previous post). Radio Reference had some of these listed so I noted their entries as well.

I would expect to see some Port District talkgroups popping up soon. Possibly programming radios and such.
I know that some RCS agencies are reviewing and changing fleetmaps right now. We could see some additions/subtractions/realignments in the next several months.
I personally heard a high ranking member of the RCS board state that all talkgroups had to go digital by a certain time. I forget what the date was.
We shall see if he was blowing smoke sooner or later.

Hopefully he was blowing smoke. I'm still too poor to afford a 396. If eveyone wants to chip in, I will humbly accept an early Christmas present....

Is that an awful expensive proposition to the school districts, parks & rec departments, city agencies, and other "small" users of the system?

I believe at the time I heard that statement the RCS was in the process of figuring out who needed new radios to comply with the digital requirement. I am not saying this is a "for sure" thing, but I know I heard him say it. I have to assume there is some degree of validity to it. Who knows how far out he was talking.

The RCS will have to get through rebanding first; I know not all of the user's radios will accept the new program and must be replaced. Of course, with no US-Mexico border use agreement, who knows when the rebanding will actually take place...
