Rancho Fire Name Change

Post by w6pix »

Press release from Rancho:

Effective at 08:00 on October 1, the North County Dispatch/JPA will change our "call name" to "North Comm."

The change comes with the NCD/JPA’s realization that a new call sign that is more descriptive of our entire service area is needed. In addition to our nine existing member and contract agencies, NCD/JPA will add the City of Oceanside beginning in early 2007. That, combined with the growth the NCD/JPA has seen in recent years, has led the agency to believe that “North Comm” is a more appropriate title than “Rancho Fire” or “Rancho Dispatch.”

Beginning October 1st, any radio transmission or telephone call into the dispatch center will be met with the new moniker. NCD/JPA is asking for the understanding and cooperation of our allied agencies, law enforcement agencies, emergency service organizations, and the community in planning for this change. This includes using the name “North Comm” in all radio and telephone communication.

The NCD/JPA currently provides Fire and EMS dispatch services to approximately 550,000 people in north San Diego County and strives to maintain the level of professional service they have had in place since 1984. The cities of Carlsbad, Del Mar, Encinitas, San Marcos, Solana Beach and Vista, along with the communities of Rancho Santa Fe, Elfin Forest, Fallbrook, Bonsall and Rainbow all benefit from the emergency services NCD/JPA provides.

Should you or your staff have any questions, please feel free to direct them to anyone at our center. (858) 756-3006 or [email protected]
