Thanks for the info! I have just added SDG&E to the scanner. Should be a good system to monitor during this weekends storms.

Hopefully more people will be able to ID talkgroups on this system.

Does any body have a hard time monitering the sdg&e system because i do my scanner tracks it but when it comes to an active talk group it cuts out like the recption is bad i only hear part of it then i lose the single, i live in san marcos. and SdG&E's yard is just down street from so i would think it should come in good.

I too live in San Marcos at the South end of Twin Oaks and SDG&E has a really weak signal here. If I go west on 78 the signal is stronger.

You have to have a good antenna. I use a pro96 with the RS800 mhz antenna or a multiband antenna on the vehicle.

I suppose a 900 mhz gain antenna is best.

SDG&E

Has anybody had trouble de-trunking sdg&e on a BC996T? The scanner locks in on the control channel but that's it. I don't hear any traffic.

You can sometimes go quite a while not hearing any traffic on SDG&E, if nothing's actually having any problems, especially at night when the routine gas meter readers and suchlike aren't working.

Make sure to get the '800' codes from the RadioReference site listed above, so you understand them. No 10 codes here.

Be aware that repair crews in the field also have, at times, UHF HT's they use simplex to chat between trucks at different poles and switches while working, besides the trunk.

Might try 451.100, 451.425, 451.175, 451.525, 451.625 for these, mostly the first three.

SDGE was using 451.625 tone 136.5

Postby Brian » Tue Nov 06, 2007 12:07 pm

Just what Skip said above...

I was scanning the 450-460 band today and heard this. (due to after the brush fire stuff)

SDGE was using 451.625 tone 136.5 on a repeater.
They were using a helicopter to lift/pull wire lines(power lines) ...
Then they brought in a bigger helicopter to lift the air compressor out.

FCC callsign: KXE508 SDGE 'Otay Mtn'
