Desk Call

Postby n2deep » Sun Nov 19, 2006 7:13 pm

Just curious what exactly is a desk call?, and why can't they air it over the radio, only dispatch it through the MDT, also what does CC mean?, as in "I'm being flagged down on a CC".

Thanks

CC is Citizen Contact, I beleive.

A desk call is any call that they don't want to air over the radio. Quite often these are Bomb/Suspicious device calls.

Also calls where law enforment officers are belived to be involved in a crime. Sometimes sexual assualts are also desk calls.

bomb calls usually go out as "priority" desk call, with a code 6 mct/radios. desk calls are usually sensitive calls they dont want aired.
