What is this identifier?

Post by jp186 »

I heard a unit call himself "10 George Sam 20" several times yesterday on SDSO Admint talkgroup. What is a "george" unit?

From a personal conversation I had with a S.D.S.O. communications Supervisor:

A 'George' Unit for SO is someone with Internal Affairs.

This particular unit identifier:

10 (works under Central Division of SO) .

George (Internal Affairs)

Sam (a sargent)

20 (His particular unit identifier)

Thanks. The "george" part was the only confusing part. I checked the SDSO section on this site and "george" units are not identified there. Thanks for the answer.

Hmmm. George Units. Where did you come up with that Lincoln3? All of my reference materials indicate an absence of G for the SDSD.

If you have good intel on that, let me know as I would like to update my SDSD Unit Listings.

Thanks

Actually, a quick check of my listings indicate Q as IAD unit designator. FYI

My information came from an S.O. dispatcher that I 21'd yesterday. She put me on hold for a moment and asked someone else who was apparently 10-4 on all of this.
