New Wildland Procedures/Talk Groups

Post by N6766J »

To better coordinate resouces, protect life and property and promote the safety of FD personnel, SDFD has designated that ALL Vegetation fires in identified Wildland, Canyon and Open Space areas be dispatched as a (minimum) Medium Wildland Response. (4 Eng, 1 Truck, 2 BC's, Shift Commander, 3 Brush Engines, 1 Water Tender, and 1 Copter) This will give the IC an adequate amount of resources, including Brush and Water Tenders to make an aggressive initial attack on any fire.

In addition, Cmd 8/Tac 26 has been designated as the primary radio talk group pair and Cmd 5/Tac 14 as the secondary talk group pair for Vegetation fires, regardless of what zone the fire is in.
