Riverside Sheriff

Post by SDnative »

Does anyone down here know what is going on with the Riverside Sheriff system. ScanRiverside has the same system info that I have seen for a while, and RadioReference has a whole new listing for the same TGs and most of the major areas do not have TGs anymore :?:

RadioReference is messed up right now. The new labels match the channel numbers but the talkgroup column isn't aligned right. Here are the main dispatch, car-car, inquiry, and special ops talkgroups that are used by RSO. I've personally verified these except for the Colorado River station.

Dec AFS Usage

273 02-021 Jurupa Dispatch
274 02-022 Jurupa Car-Car
275 02-023 Jurupa Special Ops 3
276 02-024 Jurupa Special Ops 4

289 02-041 Moreno Valley Dispatch
290 02-042 Moreno Valley Car-Car
291 02-043 Moreno Valley Special Ops 9
292 02-044 Moreno Valley Special Ops 10

529 04-021 Lake Elsinore/Perris Dispatch
530 04-022 Lake Elsinore/Perris Car-Car
531 04-023 Lake Elsinore/Perris Special Ops 3
532 04-024 Lake Elsinore/Perris Special Ops 4

561 04-061 Temecula Dispatch
562 04-062 Temecula Car-Car
563 04-063 Temecula Special Ops 9
564 04-064 Temecula Special Ops 10

545 04-041 Hemet/San Jacinto Dispatch
546 04-042 Hemet/San Jacinto Car-Car
547 04-043 Hemet/San Jacinto Special Ops 3
548 04-044 Hemet/San Jacinto Special Ops 4

785 06-021 Palm Desert Dispatch
786 06-022 Palm Desert Car-Car
787 06-023 Palm Desert Special Ops 3
788 06-024 Palm Desert Special Ops 4

801 06-041 Indio Dispatch
802 06-042 Indio Car-Car
803 06-043 Indio Special Ops 9
804 06-044 Indio Special Ops 10

1041 08-021 Colorado River Dispatch
1042 08-022 Colorado River Car-Car
1043 08-023 Colorado River Special Ops 3
1044 08-024 Colorado River Special Ops 4

306 02-062 Cross County Ch-5 (North)
307 02-063 Cross County Ch-6 (South)

321 02-081 Narcotics Ch-13 (North)
577 04-081 Narcotics Ch-13 (South)

You will see patches such as 2045, 2046, 2047 ... the newer scanners can automatically detect but older models like the BC780 and PRO-9x series you must program these or traffic will be missed. Hopefully RR will get the listing fixed but the new data someone submitted matches up with the other channels.

One note: Perris uses Special Ops 3 (531) for their dispatching. When it's less busy, the Perris and Elsinore stations are patched together.

THANKS :!: That is what I have. I don't get up there often, and I wasn't sure if they did a major change or what. I can sometimes get their traffic from as far south as the Miramar area.

With a 396, you will need to setup a separate system for each set of frequencies, and then add the talk groups for each. The frequencies MUST all be included and put in the exact order and position as the list shows. It is an EDACS wide system.

You may want to use the frequency list at ScanRiverside.com rather than from RadioReference. SR indicates it is current and they are somewhat different than RR. I have not had a chance to check them out yet.

I just reprogrammed my 996s with the latest info, and I pick-up some traffic from as far south as the Miramar area from the radio in my truck with the good RS antenna. Make sure that you have it programmed for EDACS WIDE.

It depends on which zone they hit, and reception is most likely limited by the 396s antenna and the distance.

I have programmed the SB systems, but have not been in the area for monitoring. However, I do know that they use at least one of the same control channels as the SD City system. I heard traffic on SB and the discussion did not match the description of the TG, and the voices sounded familiar. I checked the frequencies and one matched (but I don't remember which one) and the TG matched an appropriate one in SD.

Just remember that with the 396 and it's antenna, you will always have somewhat limited reception depending on the system. I have have been by my truck with both radios on, and heard the traffic on the 996 truck radio but not my 396.

I have San Bernardino County programmed and had great success monitoring them on a trip to Vegas. System 1, 2, 3, 6/7, 8, 9, and 10 seem to be good based on the data at RR. Although I did find some of the high desert cells must be programmed as splinter systems or you won't hear a thing.

From San Diego your best bet is to monitor the South system off Elsinore Peak. I've heard it from Miramar/Rancho Bernardo and in the Oceanside/Carlsbad area just fine. That system will let you hear Temecula, Elsinore/Perris and Hemet/Cabazon stations... occasionally Jurupa is simulcast here too. Try scanning in conventional mode and find the control channel to see if it can even be picked up at your location.

Perhaps in northeast San Diego county you might pick up the Central and Santa Rosa Peak systems but they carry the same traffic except Santa Rosa occasionally has Indio and Palm Desert traffic.

I was in La Jolla this morning (and I mean the area of the high school, not UTC), and actually was receiving South cell traffic from Temecula, etc. This was on my 996 with the RS antenna.

Double check your frequency entries and make sure that they are in the exact order and position as the listing show. Otherwise, the system does not know what to do. It is also likely that some TGs appear on several sites, even thou the list does not show this. Try entering your favorite TGs in several of the systems, not just one as shown on the list.

(Programming for the 396 is a more specific where each zone or loop or whatever has to be it's own system, and the associated TGs must be entered into each system that they might use. The 996 or 15 can have everything in one system.)

I have files for the RIverside system for the 396 but have not updated them recently. If you still can't get what you have to work, let me know and I will check mine and send them to you. I am using the Uniden USAD software.
