Does anyone know what the "80"s units do? I have heard 680+, 580+, etc. I have not been able to determine if they were extra beat units, training units, or ???
80's Zebra, William etc. are C-Squad. Overlap between second and third shifts. Usually finishing around 0200-0300.
80's Quebec units are special details. High crime areas, they work with vice on Western, extra coverage on Northern for beaches during busy times. Other numerous things I have heard. Pretty flexible units.
Tonight I heard a SDPD unit designator I have never heard before. Do you guys know what kind of unit is 1X11? I heard him on Eastern tonight around 6:30pm. Thanks in advance.
These are the designators that were being used during the fire and now for fire related patrols and other duties. They have also used #A##, #B##, etc, depending on how may squads were deployed to different areas.
I think they are units that are patrolling the areas affected by the fire. Checking ID's to make sure it is residents or people with a legitimate reason to be in the areas damaged by the fire. Looter patrols, and they probably also look for unlicensed contractors, and keep the peace at the recovery centers...
