Question If your using a 396 or 996 and updated to new firmware???

I did and thats when I noticed this going on.

Yup, the new update to the 396 seems to have 'added' some tendency for the 'machinegun' effect to South RCS loop. Never had it before, I think, but then I mostly listened to South with the Pro 96.

Cures the problem for some systems, makes it worse with others. Typical firmware fiddling.

im using a pro-96 and I have been using it alot and a long time ago when i listened to digital it was fine but lately it has been doing the machine gun sound when i hold on an ID.

Mike,

We need more details from you. If you can provide it.

Keep track of what 'Frequency' you hear this type of stuff on.
Just like what 'Steele' did in his post above.

Im getting alot of buzzing on the frequencies 867.4125,866.9125,866.3875 and 867.3875. :roll:

On the 996 after I updated to V2 I had CC issues and where it gets stuck on a freq and makes a bunch of static or the Machine Gunning effect on one freq 867.0625 South Zone...

Then I had to set the P-25 set time at 1000ms so I dont miss anything and so far it works...

Sometimes I wish RCS didn't exist I cant stand it. :roll:

yeah I have a radioshack PRO-83 with all the countys old UHF AND VHF and some of the new 800mhz freqs and some I hear activity on from time to time :D
