Maybe after Sean is done setting up the new database.

ScanDiego could have something like ScanRiverside.
Could have all the fire stations listed in San Diego County on a Google map. 8)

Here is a google map of most if not all San Diego Fire Stations, i did awhile ago. It might need to be updated with any new stations.

Very cool n2deep.
Maybe Sean can setup a page on ScanDiego.com and you can copy and paste your SDFD info to the page. and few of us can do the other cities for the ScanDiego.com Fire Dept Google Map.
Could include other counties(Orange,Riverside) If other users wanted it. Maybe brandon can donate the riverside info.

Little easier to remember "ScanDiego.com/FireMap" then a google link :P

Then on the bottom of the map page. Could have shortcut links to each Fire Dept page.

I have a link to the google maps on my (very basic) webpage on the 'Links' page (tab), along with the main page's large jpegs of the SDPD's beat boundaries (as of 2007) and the SDFD's Battalion boundaries and station locations, also from 2007 I believe.

The 'enlarge photo' button will bring you to the full-size (4.5 megs, eek!) jpegs from the thumbnails. I used to have them up as pdf files, which were smaller, but the new Roadrunner home pages don't allow you to put pdf's up, only picture or music files.

Here is how to create Google Map from a spreadsheet hosted on Google Docs. This is how I have setup the Riverside Co Fire Station Map.

The most time consuming part is geocaching the addresses into lat/long, but once you've done that, its smooth sailing. The map can also be customized so you can even add stuff such as apparatus info, pix, etc to the station pins.
