Stupid Question

Well I'm listening to Mardi Gras and I notice that PD is on Southeastern. I would've thought they would be on Central?? Anyone Anyone

No there is too much traffic for Central to handle the regular stuff and that. Since southeastern is not normally used, they use it for special details as the primary dispatch a lot.

There were about 5-6 other channels including tac and special detail channels also used.

I listened in too, it was pretty uneventful.

Special events with dedicated dispatchers on south end of town (Gaslamp Quarter events, etc) seem to be handled on Southeastern Dispatch while stuff on the north side of town (golf tournaments at Torrey Pines, for example) seem to be handled on North City West Dispatch.

The FD seems to use Tac 31 and Tac 28 a lot for these events
