Outages at Sidewinder and Hendrix Peak on Feb 4 & 5

SITE WORK AT HENDRIX PEAK, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2020
Please review RCS Advisory 2020-02 covering outages at Sidewinder in the Winterhaven area of Imperial County on Tuesday afternoon (2/4/2020), and Hendrix Peak at the San Diego County – Imperial County line on Wednesday morning (2/5/2020) for site reconfiguration work, and advise impacted field personnel.

With the completion of the transition from the Legacy RCS Network to the NextGen Network, work is commencing to remove the Legacy equipment from the remote radio sites. At some of the sites, this work will require shutting down the NextGen network equipment while equipment and electrical wiring is being reconfigured.
On Tuesday afternoon, February 4, 2020 between 12:00 Noon and 4:00 PM, the Sidewinder RCS site will be shut down for site reconfiguration. The Sidewinder site covers the Winterhaven area of Imperial County and parts of Yuma, AZ.
On Wednesday morning, February 5, 2020 between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM, the Hendrix Peak RCS site will be shut down for reconfiguration. The Hendrix Peak RCS site covers the far Southeastern corner of San Diego County and the Southwestern portion of Imperial County, along Interstate 8.
Users should be informed of theses outages and be prepared to implement alternate plans for emergency communications needs.
