More departments combining?

A story on NBC 7/39 tonight said that the Fire Departments of Solana Beach/Del Mar and Elfin Forest were looking into combining with Rancho Santa Fe, to save money. They are already dispatched by Rancho. Nothing was said about Oceanside using Rancho Dispatch.

It doesn't seem unusual that it wasn't mentioned in the TV media. It seems like the TV media ignores what is going on in Oceanside, unless its something fantastic. Evidently city department heads, city managers, city attorneys, leaving, possible recall of a council person, and an alleged scandal between a, now resigned, department head and former employee involvement regarding payment for city services without a contract don't qualify for TV news coverage.
The information I mentioned came directly from the City Council and Acting Fire Chief and has been discussed for some time prior to its approval. It seems to be a really good/smart idea.
There has been nothing further on the move of Rancho Fire JPA dispatch to the old PD station though.
