ID number question?

I would like to know can i remove the ID number from constantly showing up when i am in scan mode? For example when listening to coronado pd thats all it says cause the ID number keeps coming up in place of coronado dispatch etc. bcd 396t

Not sure of the exact menu option on the 396, but on the rest of the Unidens (780, 785, 250 ect) its:
MENU
SCANOPTION
TRUNK
SELECT BANK IN QUESTION
SCROLL DOWN/LOOK FOR "ACTIVITY ID"
AND TOGGLE IT OFF.

For the 396T -
Assuming alpha tags have been programmed in along with the TGIDs ...
During Scan, Press *HOLD*, it likely will stop on the control channel.
Then press and HOLD the *Function* key (top on side) depressed while you press the *5* key. This will allow you to toggle between alpha tags and TGID or the freq for conventional systems.
